Nepal trek permit and fees is a main and common question of a traveller before they start to trek. All foreigners are required to obtain the necessary permit to trek in Nepal. The permits requirements and their fees vary for each different area. Almost all of the trekking routes of Nepal are inside the protected area and conservation. Due to this, the Nepal government imposes some permits to preserve these things. National Parks and Conservation Areas
To visit the National park and conservation area foreigners are required to take the national park permits. The revenue collection from these permits is used to maintain and preserve those areas. Such Area is Sagarmatha National park which is also known as a Khumbu area, all the people who go to the Everest region must take the national park permits. There are other trekking routes such as Annapurna base camp trek and Annapurna circuit trek which is also inside of Annapurna conservation area likewise Langtang trek also inside Langtang National park. Below 10 years child does not any permits to enter into the national park
Restricted Areas/control region area trek
Nepal government has announced and implemented to impose the special permit to enter in some specific area of Nepal. Those are also known as a restricted area and highly monitored by the government. Tourist is required to get permits from the immigration office of Nepal with the help of Government resisted trekking agency. You need to submit many application and company should be responsible for you during your trek days in Nepal. Some of this area is quite expensive while others are cheap as well. The most expensive permits are upper mustang and Upper Dolpo.
Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS)
there is another types of permit called trekkers information management system (TIMS) permit. this permit is required to trek all trek of Nepal. This is issued from Nepal Tourism Board with the help of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN). TIMS keep the track record of foreign visitors in Nepal and respond in case of emergencies, such as a rescue and natural disaster.
