1. Autumn and Spring are the best times for the Langtang Valley Trek 6 days
Autumn (September to November) and Spring (March to May) are the two main seasons for trekking in Nepal, and so is the Langtang Valley. We rank Autumn as the best season first and spring is second for the Langtang Valley trek because of the best favourable time, and here is why both seasons are considered the best time for trekking in Nepal.
Most Stable Weather Conditions of the year:
In the Autumn and Spring seasons, trekkers can experience the most stable weather conditions with blue and clear skies. Clear skies are always important to see the Stunning mountain ranges so you can see the best view from Kyanjin Ri and Tsergo Ri.Moderate/Suitable Temperatures:
In the Autumn and spring seasons, you can enjoy the pleasant temperatures even in the mountains as well. During the day, the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold. Towards the end of the Autumn season, you can face some cold temperatures, especially at night.Perfect visibility:
because of the clear skies, you can have a perfect view of the Langtang Himalayan Range, that are far away from you as well. The clear skies ensure excellent visibility of the stunning Himalayan landscapes, allowing for great photographic opportunities.Less chance of snowfall and rain:

Autumn holds a Major Nepalese festival like Dashain and Tihar, offering a chance to experience local culture and traditions in a lower area, while in the higher areas, they do not celebrate.Good Trail Conditions:
The trails are generally dry and in good condition, making trekking easier and safer.
3. Summer / Monsoon (June-August)
Monsoon is not a good time to trek as there are many risks of landslides and floods, as well as frequent bad weather and less visibility. Monsoon is the busiest season in Nepal because most of the Nepalese people are involved in Agriculture. The countryside is busy planting rice and other crops for the whole year. In this season, people also plant millet for the floor in the countryside. People also harvest corn this season.
4. Winter (December, January, February)
Winter is the coolest season in Nepal. The temperature gets very low all over Nepal. The nights can be cold as the temperature falls low after sunset. Snowfall is common in the Himalayan and upper hilly regions of Nepal. This is not a good season to trek in Nepal. But you can still do this trek, and the good view depends on your luck.

How to go Langtang valley trek 6 Days.
There are two ways to reach the starting point of the Langtang trek. The starting village, called syabrubensi which is 113 km from Kathmandu. The road journey takes 6-7 hours by Jeep, and there are two ways to go to the Langtang valley trek.
1. Travel by local bus
To go on the 6-day Langtang valley trek, trekkers must travel to Syabrubensi from Kathmandu. Syabrubensi is the trekking starting point. The road to Syabrubensi has been in an upgrade process, so there is pretty much dust on the way, and it takes about 7-8 hours. Due to the construction process, sometimes we might get traffic jams, too. Early in the morning, the local bus leaves from Machhapokhari, Kathmandu. It is better to start early in the morning because if sometimes, the bus has a problem during the trip, you will find another option to take another one on the way. The local buses sometimes compete with each other to get more passengers, which is quite dangerous, especially on roads like this, and they often stop for the local passengers. They stop often and over people is very normal. Even in the passage, they put the passenger as much as they can.
2. Travel by private transport jeep
If you love the scenery and want to enjoy the drive much relaxing way, then the private jeep is a reliable and safer option for travellers. On the jeep ride, you can also enjoy the ride with the beautiful sights of the villages and roads. Although it is quite expensive. Travelling by jeep is flexible for you; you can stop often and resume the drive. Your trek Guide and porter also travel with you. It might take a little bit less time than the local bus. You can stop at any time if you like to take some photos during the trip.
How Difficult is the 6-day Langtang Valley trek?
The Langtang Valley Trek 6 days is moderate difficult trek with a quite rushed plan, normally most of the trekkers do the 7 nights 8 days trek in the standard plan. If you are doing it within 6 days, then it means you have to walk longer and need to cover more distance, so here we try to explain how hard the short Langtang valley trekking 6 days.
Easy Moderate Grade trek:
This is an easy to moderate grade trek located in the northern parts of the Kathmandu valley. The trek has just reached an altitude below 4500 meters. While the standard Langnanag Valley trek takes 7 nights and 8 days, this aims to be completed in 6 days, which means you have to walk longer hours, and sometimes you have to start very early and end very late as well.Altitude is not that much, but there is a risk
The 6-day Short Langtang Valley trek involves ascending to altitudes of around 3900 meters up to Kyanjin Gompa, where you sleep overnight, and even reaches an altitude of 4700 meters. This rapid elevation gain can pose challenges, such as altitude sickness. To minimise risks, it’s crucial to drink plenty of fluids, ascend gradually, and listen to your body. Rest when needed and avoid pushing yourself too hard.Mountain terrain with frequent stairs
The Langtang valley trekking trails, which go through the Langtang National Park’s mountainous terrain, involve frequent ascents and descents through the bank of the Langtang River. Numerous stairs are encountered along the trails, which may present a challenge for some. Lower elevations feature more rugged trails, while higher altitudes often involve steeper hiking sections. Wearing sturdy trekking boots and utilising hiking poles can significantly enhance safety and stability throughout the trek.Quick Altitude Gain
The trek starts at a lower elevation around 1,400-1,500 meters (4,593-4,921 feet) in Syabrubesi and ascends and reaches to Kyanjin Gompa village at around 3,870 meters (12,696 feet). There are optional hikes that can take you even higher to viewpoints like Kyanjin Ri (4,773m/15,659 ft) or Tserko Ri (around 5,000m/16,404 ft so there is a significance chance of getting the altitude mountain sickness and you are require to take the special precautions to avoid the altitude mountain sickness by slowing the hiking peace, drinking enough waters and making the positive mindsets. You will also stay in Kyanjin Gompa village 2-3 nights to hike around the surroundings, which is also helpful for adjusting to the altitude.Very Unpredictable weather
The weather in the Himalayas is very unpredictable, even in the best seasons like autumn and spring. The weather can change anytime, and the adverse situation may appear very quickly, such as heavy snowfall and rain in the lower areas. Sometimes the weather can be cloudy for 4-5 days. In this case, you would not see anything, so you have to be aware of that as well.

Langtang Valley Trek 6-day itinerary
- Day 01: Drive to Domen 1600 Meters, 7-8 Hours then trek to Bamboo
The Langtang valley trek, 7 days, starts with the drive from Kathmandu. If you choose the public bus, then we will come to pick you up from the hotel and drive to Syabrubensi with the first public bus to Syabrubensi or a private jeep to Domen. Heaving a jeep is also safer and more convenient for you because you can start anytime, but we recommend that you start early in the morning because our goal is to reach the bamboo. If you start the trek from Domen, it takes 2.30 hours to reach the bamboo, but if you start from Syabrubensi, it takes 3.5 hours. You will cross cities like Tokha, Trisuli, and Kalikasthan to reach Dhunche. You will get your Langtang National Park permits here and have to show your trekking luggage to the army. We advise you not to bring drones, a Lighter, or a Knife in your backpack because this is against the national park rules. From here, you continue to drive up to Domen, which is located on the bank of the Langtang River and finally leave the jeep here. The trek begins from here. The trails often go up and down and walk parallel to the rivers. You will have to walk through the dense forest of maple, massive spruce, fir, blue pine and rhododendron, and so many bamboos. The trail is easy but gradually climbs until the bamboo. - Day 02: Trek to Thangshyap 3,140 m (10,270 ft), 6-7 Hrs
Early in the morning, we start the trek through the forest and cross the suspension bridge. The trail climbs gently and extends up through the thick forest to reach the Lama Hotel, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to Lama Hotel. In this part, there are a lot of stairs. From here, the trail still climbs. During the trek, we pass the forests of hemlocks, oaks, maples and white and pink rhododendrons high above the Langtang Khola. With the view of Langtang Lirung (7244m). Near Ghoda Tabela, the forest gets less thick and slowly the tree lines fade away. Once we reach the planned area where there are fewer trees, there is a village called Ghoda tabela, where you will have to enter your permits, which your guide does. Now, the trail becomes easier and reaches Thangshayp. - Day 03: Thangshayp to Kyanjin Gompa 3870 Meters, estimated time is 5-6 Hours, a walking trail is mostly ascent, estimated distance 8-9 KM
Today is the most scenic day. It is quite an easy way due to less altitude gain and smooth and gentle ascent trails till Kyanjin Gompa. We need to walk through the Yak pasture field and buckwheat terrace, where you can see the other side of the valley’s forest and mountain range. You can see some peaks while you walk towards Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is the village where you mostly see the hotels. There is a bakery shop where they also make different types of coffee. You can see the Langtang Lirung 7,234 M, Langtang Ri 7,205 M, Dorje Lakpa 6,966 M, Loenpo Gang 6,907 M, Changbu 6,781 M, Gangchenpo 6,387 M. You will do small lunch here and start the hike to Kyanjin Ri. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to reach the summits, and on the way, you can see the excellent view of the mountain peaks and glaciers. Return to the Kyanjin Gompa village and stay overnight here. - Day 04: Rest Day at Kyanjin Gompa and hike to Lower Kyanjin Ri 4360 Meter 4-5 Hours
It is a rest and exploration day. We will bring you to the Kyanjin Ri to see the beautiful Langtang Himalayan range. It is a 3-hour hike to the top of Kyanjin Ri. From here you can see the Langtang Lirung, Marimatto, Ganjala peak and many more. You will be able to see the whole valley from here. We can also see glaciers of Langtang Lirung from here. Return from here, you will be acclimatised enough to be ready for the next adventures.
or, Tsergo Ri Hike 5000 Meters 7-8 hours Round trip.
It is the most challenging day of the trek; you will climb for around 4-5 hours to reach the Tsergo Ri. The hike offers the spectacular view of Langtang Lirung 7,234 M, Langtang RI 7,205 M, Dorje Lakpa 6,966 M, Loenpo Gang 6,907 M, Changbu 6,781 M, Gangchenpo 6,387 M, Morimoto 6,150 M, Yala Peak 5,520 M and many others, and on the way to return, you would take another way around the Tserko Ri to arrive at the Kyanjin Gompa Village. - Day 05: Trek back to Rimche Hotel, 2300 Meters, 6-7 Hours needed.
From today, we begin to go down the valley. We follow the same way to go down, crossing the Langtang village, Ghoda Tabela, and we reach Lama Hotel, and we will probably stay at Rimche. - Day 06: Trek down to Syabrubensi 1500 m and then drive to Kathmandu
The trek is quite difficult today because we have to go down, the descent is harder because of the irregular stones and small moraines after Lama hotel. We need to walk through the forest, and we can reach Domen and then from here walk about 1 hour to reach the Syabrubensi, and then you will drive to Kathmandu

TripAdvisor Review Google ReviewLangtang Trek
Shreeram is a local in Kathmandu and we were so lucky to come across his whatsapp number online. We spent a long time looking up different treks that were all ridiculously overpriced and organised by bigger tour companies outside of Nepal. Once we had Shreerams details, we were able to communicate with him directly over 2 weeks whilst we were still travelling India. He answered all the questions we had about the different treks, our budget and timeframe. No money was exchanged before meeting with him, everything was priced reasonably and he helped us get our gear sorted and phones set up before we left – you can rent trekking gear and it’s cheaper if you are with a local. Very organised and great service.
Now for our guide and porter. Sabin was our guide and spoke very good English (regardless of what he thinks haha). He’s very considerate of other people and knowledgable about his country and the treks all around. He’s from a town close by to the Langtang valley trek and gave us a lot of information about the area, before and after the devastating earthquake in 2015. He treks with ease and will take care of you if you are unwell or injured – recieved massages on rest breaks for my injured leg and he offered to take my bag on numerous occasions.
Des was our porter. He carried everything we couldn’t fit in our day bags, which was more than we’d wanted him to carry. He honestly still could’ve trekked in half the amount of time if he wanted to, he is so fast. Des doesn’t speak much English but he is smiling every step of the way and even broke into dance when he’d manage to get ahead of us and have a rest.
The langtang valley trek itself was amazing. It was hard because I injured myself but the overall experience made it worth it. There is such a mix of trekkers on this trail, it’s really motivating. From families to a group of birdwatchers in their 60’s and 70’s, it really is a trek for everyone as long as you can go at your own pace. With Shreeram’s tour, we went as fast or slow as we wished and enjoyed it so much more than if we were in a big group.
Truly amazing experience and service
Thanks Nepal Trek Hub for a truly amazing week in Langtang valley. We were so happy with everything and want to thank Shreeram for the amazing support and companionship. The communication upfront was very clear and comforting, and during the trip Shreeram was the best possible companion possible. We had a lot of fun, nice conversations, and we were amazed by his kindness, knowledge and interests. We would 100% recommend Nepal Trek Hub, Shreeram and the Langtang Valley trek.
Thank you Shreeram and Nepal Trek hub for our wonderful trip!

100% recommend!! Shreeram is kind, hospitable and hilarious!! We hope to be back one day :)
Shreeram is amazing!!! My husband and I did LangTang National Park as part of our honeymoon trip. Our trip was a total of 8 days. Shreeram was great from the start, always responded to Whatsapp messages promptly, picked us up from the airport and of course lead us through the magnificent LangTang hike.
Shreeram and Ram were so kind, hospitable and absolutely hilarious. My husband and I had the best trip!! The food was delicious and views were absolutely breathtaking.
I would 100% recommend Nepal Trek Hub to anyone who is considering trekking in the Himalaya mountain range. Shreeram made us feel safe throughout the whole trip and shared lots of knowledge of the area. He also tailored the trip for us specifically as I have a bad knee therefore struggle with declines. Shreeram put together the perfect trip for us!
After the hike he invited us to his home for some food and to meet his family. A very special invite. Thank you Shreeram for everything, we hope to be back one day!!
Langtang Valley legends
Five stars!!
Langtang Valley Trek was amazing. Shreeram such a thoughtful and insightful guide with a caring local perspective. Porters were top dudes.
Accommodation choices were excellent. It’s clear they have done this a thousand times and sorted out the best options for their clients.
I took my family and they looked after us and nursed us up Tsetko Ri.
A highlight of our time in Nepal.
Langtang Valley Trek 2023
The first thought that comes to your mind when you opt for a local trekking company in Nepal is “Are they authentic?” Nepal Trek Hub’s Sriram is a gem. From the moment we landed in Kathmandu, he was there to help us. Well, that’s what promised too.
He understood our needs and accommodated us with ease. From
the duffel bag to the portable water filter which is quite pricey were all taken care of by him. Even the internet!
Everyday we had a plate of fruits which tasted exactly the same( this is not possible because we were moving from one place to another). I kept wondering how does Sriram find fresh fruits everyday? And they taste the same too? Only later I found out, he was carrying kilos of fruits in his backpack!!!! Oh! How grateful we were for the fruits! On some days the food didn’t suit out palette or stomach and the fruits were the only source of nutrition and energy.
He made sure each of ( we were a party of 3) had someone ( either him or our porters) were with us all the time.
I have to mention our porters Bijay and Ram. Wonderful people, awesome patience.
They made sure were reached the summit despite certain issues. The experience was a ‘ hug’ worthy!
We had to return back via chopper due to certain reasons, he was ready to help
and arranged for the chopper. Though we had booked our own hotel rooms, due to our early descent, we had to find new accommodations and that itself was a task. Once again Sriram was there to the rescue.
He was with us every step of the way and even after we had all come back home. We had missed a cap in the taxi on our way to the airport. Sriram made an effort to find it and courier is back to us. It was just a cap! Now that is the level of care and dedication this guy has towards his guests.
With Sriram and Nepal Trek Hub, I would climb the Himalayas any day without doubt or fear.
