Kala Patthar Trek trails/route
The spectacular trek begins after the stunning flights to Lukla from Kathmandu. The 35 Minutes flight is a great chance to see the Mountain ranges and the landscapes of the north-east side of Kathmandu. Once you land in Lukla, the rest of the team gathers there to carry your luggage. Together with the Porter, you will start your Kala Patthar trek through the bank of the Dudh Kosi River. During the trek, you will cross the River Multiple times through the suspension bridges. Staying Rest day at Namche you will continue your trek through the Tengboche to reach the Dingboche. We have also put a day at Dingboche for the better acclimatization. After doing a couple of days trek you will reach the Gorak Shep and you will visit the Everest base camp. Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu
NTH will pick up you from airport, then take you to the hotel and give you a short briefing about the Kala Patthar trek program. We also help you to hire the equipment rental without any deposit for your trek
Day 02: Fly to Lukla then trek to Phakding 2,610 M, 5-6 Hours
You will have an amazing 40 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (9,186ft), from the flight you can see spectacular Himalayan scenery. Upon you arrive at Lukla your trek starts. Porter will be on Lukla who will carry your baggage for the entire trek. From Lukla, the trails go gradually descent to Cheplung village first. You will walk nearby the bank of the river most of the time with the mountain scenery on the north through the pine forests. It takes 4-5 Hours further to reach the Phakding
Day 03: Trek to Namche 3440 M, 5-6 Hours
This is a quite tough and tough day as compared to the previous day. At the morning after you start the trek, you will trek through a beautiful forest filled with pine, hemlock, juniper and more. The trails go slowly up by crossing the Dudh Koshi River multiple times. You will then reach Monjo which is the entrance point of Everest National Park. Crossing the long suspension bridge you will reach to Jorsale. After walking a couple of hours you will Cros the Hillary bridge. The Hillary bridge is the place where two rivers meet and from here to Namche is mostly accenting. It takes a few more hours to reach Namche Bazar. On the way, you will have excellent views of Everest (8,848m) and Lhotse (8,516m.). Namche Bazzar is the biggest village in the Khumbu.
Day 04: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazzar 3440 M
It is the acclimatization day and you will explore the mountain scenery going a small hike from Namche. Hiking from Namche to Everest view hotel is the best and popular hikes. It takes some hours and from the Everest view hotel, you can see the stunning view of the Mt Everest and other mountains such as an Amadablam with the guide. You will explore the countless Chorten and monasteries around the trails.
Day 05: Trek to Tengboche 3250 Meters/10,662 Feet from Namche, 5-6 Hours
Trek to Tengboche offers the amazing mountain scenery and Landscapes. You will walk around 6-7 hours to reach the Tengboche. In Tengboche, you can visit the Monastriey which gives you an overview of Buddhism and the Buddhist culture of the Sherpa People.
Day 06: Trek to Dingboche 4,360 M, 6-7 Hours
Your Journey to Dingboche is quite tough because you need to walk on the altitude where there is thin air. You should trek through wooded forests which is very thin in the density on Imja Khola valley. The views become more impressive when you go higher. Crossing Pangboche village and the mani walls of the village you trek continue towards the Dingboche. It takes some more hours to Arrive Dingboche
Day 07: Dingboche: Acclimatization
Day 08: Trek to Lobuche 4940 M, 6-7 Hours
You will reach to Lobuche today, First of all, you’ll across Thukla after you walk from Dingboche. Thukla is a small settlement, from here the trail slowly climbs to Pheriche (4210m). From here the trek route gets a bit harder. The trekking trails from here go down to the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. This is one of the big glaciers of Khumbu. crossing the moraine of the glaciers, the view some isolated peaks like Khumbutse, Pumori is visible perfectly. After some walk, you’ll reach Lobuche. This is a small settlement where the hotels are there for tourist.
Day 09: Trek to Gorakshep then to Everest base camp and back to Gorakshep 5,170 M, 6-7 Hours
Everest Base Camp is our destination today, we need to start early today. It might take a long time as the trail climbs through the ice, crevasses of the Glacier. Due to altitude, You might even count your steps. The AMS chance is very high here. Accent and slow walk from Lobuche alongside the right side of the Khumbu Glacier to Gorakshep. This is elevated at 5181m/16994ft. upon onward from here there is no tea house/lodges. There is a big trail to reaches Everest Base Camp. You can see Khumbu Icefall from here. Depending on whether you need to spend the time on Everest base camp, After base camp, you need to go back to Gorakshep for overnight stay.
Day 10: Trek to Kala Patthar then down to pheriche 8-9 Hours
The group should make an early start to avoid the early morning clouds and fogs to trek Kala Pattar (5545 m). Kala Pattar is the best viewpoint of Everest as well as Nuptse. Some people get emotional when they are here and might get tear on eyes because of a long and tough hike. To go to Kala Pattar from here, the trail is ascent and quite steep. Pumori can see from here. It might take 2 hours to reach Kala Pattar. From here you can see Nuptse, Pumori, Changtse, Taweche, Ama Dablam and Mt Everest. From Kala Pattar, Everest base camp is visible at bowl shape. When you back to Gorakshep you will do breakfast then start trek to Pheriche.
Day 11: Trek down Namche Bazaar 3,440 Meter
Now your trail always goes decently down through rocky terrain. During the trek route, you would see rhododendron forest. During the trek, you would pass Tengboche where there is the famous and oldest monastery of this region. You go still descends from Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m) on this time you would pass several tiny villages.
Day 12: Trek to Lukla 2800 Meter
, First of all, we go steep down. After crossing the suspension bridges over the fast flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries, the trail becomes more level and natural. After our arrival in Lukla, we stretch those sore legs and recall the experiences of the last couple of weeks. Overnight in Lukla.

If you are keen to do Mt. Everest base camp trek/Kala Patthar trek, here is a general idea about the Kala Patthar trek cost. First of all, The flight cost is the most expensive and main cost of your trek. The 2-way flight cost, Accommodation in Kathmandu and on the trek days, food cost, drinks cost, gear for the trek, travel permits, insurance, cost of hiring a guide and porter are the tittle of major overheads.
360$ is the flight cost to Lukla – Kathmandu – Lukla. If you start from Jiri to Everest Base Camp, you will save 1-way flight cost but it takes 7 more days to complete your Everest trek.
50$ is food and accommodation cost per person per day. Which includes your food and accommodation for the single day.
Likewise, you need to get the two permits while you go to Everest trekking. EBC trek requires Sagarmatha National Park permit costs 33$. Besides that, you also need to get Rural municipality ticket which cost is.

Kathmandu to Lukla Flight
Everset base camp trek begins from Lukla. To go Lukla you need to take the Kathmandu to Lukla flight which is always quite challenging due to the limited flight from Kathmandu and fast-changing weather. The flight schedule can be changed quickly as per the weather of the Lukla. The Kathmandu to Lukla flight starts early in the morning from 6:30 AM to till 10 AM, 11 AM by 3 to 4 airlines. The Lukla airstrip is quite small that is the reason the small planes which carry around 18-19 people can go to Lukla. Since Kathmandu airport is one of the busy airports that the flights to the different places of Nepal go, the Kathmandu Lukla flight may be disturbed. Sometimes the airlines or aviation might also tell you that you need to Fly from Ramechap as well. Ramechap is another domestic airport which is near from Kathmandu. The 3-4 hours driving from Kathmandu takes you to the Ramechap. The airline company comes to pick you up on Thamel to go Ramechap before the flights. Which is the best time to trek to Everest base camp
Without any doubts, September mid, October, November are the first best season to trek. The second best season is March – April to trek in Everest.
