Everest cleaning campaign in Guinness World Records is delclared by the government official. The ‘Everest Sanitation Campaign’, which ran from April 14 to May 29, 2019, has become a Guinness World Record. Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Kedar Bahadur Adhikari said that the campaign has been recognized by Guinness World Records as a ‘massive sanitation campaign’.

The campaign is a Guinness World Record for the largest sanitation campaign. During the expedition to Everest last year, 10,386 kg of garbage was collected.

A dozen Sherpas trained by the Ministry and the Department of Tourism were deployed in the 5-day-long cleaning campaign. campaign. The Nepal Army, local level and other stakeholders were deployed in it.

Everest base camp trek is very popular among the trekkers and there are more than 300 climbers who climb the Mt Everest each year. The tourism activity in the Mt Everest regions has been the cause of the Himalayas pollutions. The Everest base camp and the Camp I, Camp II, Camp III and entire route to Submit of Mt. The Mt. Everest Cleanup Campaign – 2019 was a joint campaign conducted in coordination with various government bodies, conservation and tourism stakeholders to retrieve garbage from Mt. Everest in this spring climbing season.

9. Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC)
