Eight Indian tourists found unconscious at a Everest Panorama Resort, in Daman have died, confirm police.
According to the The District Police Office they were found unconscious at Everest Panorama Resort in Daman, Thaha municipality-4 Makwanpur. The security officials suspect that the tourists had gone to bed last night while warming up their rooms with gas heaters. The victims include four men and four women. They, however, are yet to be identified.
They were found unconscious at a hotel in Daman of Makawanpur district, around 55 kilometer southeast of Kathmandu, on Monday morning, and were rescued by the helicopter to Kathmandu hospital.
However, all of them died while undergoing treatment at the emergency ward of Hams Hospital in Dhumbarahi of the capital, according to DSP Umesh Lamsal of Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj.
15 Indian tourists had booked two rooms at the resort. Eight of them died ,four males and four females—were in the same room.
The Indians have been identified as Sharanya, 34, Ranjit Kumar TB, 39, Indu Ranjit, 34, Shree Bhadra, 9, Abinab Soraya, 9, Abi Nayar 7, and Baishnab Ranjit, 2, Prabin Kumar Nayar, 39
Superintendent Sushil Singh Rathaur of Makwanpur police official said the Indians might have used gas heaters to warm their room which could have suffocated them to death.“Investigation is underway,” said Rathaur.
“Preparations are underway to take the bodies to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem,” he says.
