Chandragiri hill tour

Chandragiri hill tour is one of the best things to do in Kathmandu valley. This is also an opportunity to see the great Himalayan scenery from the top of Chandragiri which is elevated around 2540 Meter. Travellers can have a great view of the city as well as the green hills of chitlang site. This is one of the best hill stations around Kathmandu. In the past, it used to be only accessible through the hike but these days there is a Cable car to go there. The cable car takes 10 minutes to take you on the top of Chandragiri where there is a Shiva temple as well as a view tower. The surrounding hills of Kathmandu are visible from here.

    • Cable car riding is also an experience although you already use a cable car, this is quite fun because of the thick forest and the view of Kathmandu city. When you reach the top of Chandragiri you can see the Kathmandu valley clearly plus the other side of Makwanpur district villages clearly. The dense forest and cold environment of Chandragiri is an experience with the view of breathtaking mountains.

    Before the unification of Nepal, there were many small kingdoms in all over present Nepal. There was a famous king called Prithivi Narayan Shah who started to conquer Nepal by unifying all the small kingdoms. Kathmandu used to be one of the strong and very rich kingdoms and Prithvi Naryan Shah’s father in law state was Makwanpur so he used to be here for the strategic analysis of how to get the victory over Kathmandu. That is why you can see the King statue here in Chandragiri .

    9:00 Am -pick up from Hotel then you drive to the Cable car station which might take around 50 minutes, depending on crowds you should back before 12.30 because they close Cable car for 12.30 to 1.30. You will drop to the Hotel after finishing the tour.
