Best time to do Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

Autumn (October, November and early December) and Spring (March, April and May) are the Best time for the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek and exploration around the Himalayas of Nepal. During Autumn and Spring sky remains clear with the blue sky and visibility is very clear, so you can enjoy the mountain scenery perfectly, and there is less chance of rain falls as well as snowfall, plus the temperature is also very appropriate for the trekking adventure. Below, we have described what it looks like to trek in each season to the Annapurna Sanctuary.

  • 1. Autumn Seasons (October and November)

The best season for trekking in Nepal and also the Annapurna sanctuary trek. This is the perfect time to do the trek in Nepal because the weather is neither hot nor cold, and the landscapes are very green and beautiful because of the post-monsoon season. The sky generally remains blue and clear. There is a very low chance of rainfall and snowfall during the trek. For the trekking, it is the best time in terms of the temperature and visibility. October is the best month, and November is after that. You can enjoy the mountain scenery throughout the day, usually during this season of the year.

  • 2. Spring Seasons (March, April and May)

March, April and May are the second-best times to trek in Nepal. Due to the spring season, the lower area of the trek get’s rhododendron flower blossoms and the higher area of the trek is usually clear, and there is less chance of rain and snowfall during this time. Since it is the beginning of summer, the lower area is pretty hot, and the mountain area is not that cold. You can enjoy the mountain scenery with the perfect views. The visibility remains perfect usually in the morning, and in the evening it gets cloudy.

  • 3. Monsoon seasons

Trekkers can trek in the Annapurna sanctuary, but leeches, floods, landslides and a cloudy sky are the problems at this time. We even see many accidents happen during this period. If you have time and do it anyway, then you can with the help of a professional guide. The scenery depends on your luck. You can not enjoy the trek this time like in the Spring and Autumn seasons.

  • 4. Winter season

December and January are the coldest months; in these months, the temperature is very cold, the weather is mostly cloudy, so it means you can not get a good view of the Himalayas. But in recent years, the weather has been good in December and January as well, and if you want to take the risk of not seeing the mountains as well as tolerate the cold, then you can also do the Annapurna Sanctuary trek.

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek Duration

The Annapurna Sanctuary trek, also known as the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) duration is 5-8 days, depending on the route chosen and the pace of the trekkers. Some are shorter and longer, and there is always a customisation option available depending on your physical fitness and ability, as well as age. Currently, we offer 3 types of the Annapurna sanctuary trek.

  • Annapurna Sanctuary Trek 5 days (5-day trek), the shortest duration trek:
The shortest Annapurna Sanctuary Trek 5 days which starts from Samrung and ends at Samrung, goes straight to Annapurna base camp and returns to Pokhara in 5 days. The hike is suitable for trekkers who are quite fit and can walk for 7-8 hours each day on the mountainous terrains. The trek is perfect for budget travellers.

  • Annapurna Sanctuary Trek 7 days (7-day trek):
The second shortest one is the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek 7 days short trek which starts from Samrung and ends at Samrung. This Annapurna Sanctuary trek is 7 days from Pokhara to Pokhara, so it is much comfortable and much easier than the first one and can be suitable for most trekkers.

  • Annapurna Sanctuary Trek 8 days (8-day trek):
The very normal version of the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is standard Annapurna base camp trek 8 days starts from Ulleri and reach to Ghorepani and early sunrise view from Poon Hill then head to the Annapurna base camp. The trek is a combination of both Annapurna and Ghorepani, so it is 8 days. We can also modify and include the Mulde peak trek instead of the little crowded Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. The Mulde peak trek offers more comprehensive views of both Annapurna and the Dhulagiri Range together.

Annapurana Base camp trek experience - One of the best trek I have had.

August 14, 2024

Shreeram and Nepal Trek Hub provided an exceptional trekking experience that exceeded our expectations. As a group of six avid trekkers, photographers, and adventure enthusiasts over 50 years of age, we were impressed by Shriram’s meticulous planning and attention to our needs. He carefully curated the Annapurna Base Camp trek route, accommodations, and logistics to ensure our comfort and safety, despite our advanced age and health considerations.

Throughout the trek, Shriram’s expertise, knowledge, and sense of humor made the journey truly memorable. He was attentive to our pace and provided the necessary support, even carrying backpacks for some of our group members when needed. The accommodations and food were excellent, and Shriram’s responsiveness to any challenges we faced was commendable.

The breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and the overall trekking experience were truly unforgettable. We are grateful to Shriram and the Nepal Trek Hub team for crafting a seamless and enjoyable adventure that catered to our specific needs as a mature group of trekkers. We highly recommend Nepal Trek Hub to anyone seeking a professional and personalized trekking experience in Nepal.

When we planned our trek at Nepal, we searched for a local guide and found info about Mr Shreeram. We connected to him through WhatsApp, and discussed our plan.

He guided us with the proper itinerary. From day 1 of our trek to our last day of trek he made sure everything goes well as per plan. The tea houses he chose was more comfortable. The Porters Mr Ram and Mr Suresh were calm nd helpful all the time. If you are planning for a trek in Nepal , I strongly recommend Mr shreeram.

Great Annapurna Trek, lifetime experience

January 29, 2023

I booked a 10-day trek around the Annapurna region with Nepal Trek Hub. From the beginning of Communication, I was asking so many questions regarding Annapurna Trek. Every time I got my answer so quickly. Shreeram was the best man to solve each and every query regarding this Annapurna Trek. I had so much information regarding the Annapurna Trekking so I was well prepared regarding types of equipment and gear. On arrival, Shreeram Pick Up me from the airport. We had a nice conversation in hotel regarding my trip. My Guide Rajesh was there to meet me and afterwards, rajesh took care of everything. He was hero of my trip not only as a guide but also as a friend. As I am alone I was frightened that I could be board but that thing did not happen to me as Rajesh was so funny

Being single it is hard to get the accommodation in Annapurna as I understood myself, but my guide managed me super accommodation everyday. We were doing Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with Annapurna Base Camp. As my guide was Encyclopedia, I understood many things regarding Nepal such as how Nepal formed. What is its history? What are the culture and ethnicity? Language, politics, rural life and many other things that other travellers do not care about.

I was so lucky in terms of weather because from the start of my trek to end, it was crystal clear weather so I saw many mountains, terrains and landscapes. It was also good to see the rhododendron flowers blooming in the forest. I enjoyed the mesmerizing view of the Forest and mountains.

I saw Mt.Annapurna, Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri, Fishtail mountain and many other beautiful peaks around the region. It was quite narrow valley but the scenery was amazing itself plus I got more impression that the local porters were carrying 60-70 kg easily in baskets to the hotel’s supplies. And the more interesting thing is they were in flip-flops.

Overall, my experience with Nepal Trek Hub was super. They were kind and helpful as well as very professional in their profession. They are about the client’s need and what they want. They were also very happy to customize the trip even in office or in Trip as well. I can recommend to anyone who is going to Nepal for any trip.
