8-Day Short Annapurna Circuit Trek, best time/seasons
8-Day Short Annapurna Circuit Trek experience is entirely dependent on the season of the trek. Normally, the Spring and Autumn are the best seasons for trekking. It is very important to know which season looks like the ideal time for your trek and here how the trek looks like in each season.
Autumn season
This is the very best time to trek here in the Annapurna Circuit. This season is also known as the post-monsoon season, as well as the season of the festival in Nepal. The lower part of the trek is full of rice and greenery, while the upper part of the trail is perfect for trekking. The weather temperature in the autumn season is very suitable for trekking, it is neither a hot nor a cold season in Nepal, but in the higher places it is a little cold, so you need to prepare for that. Plus, the visibility is very good throughout the entire day. The days are mostly sunny. There is very little chance of rain and snowfall in the mountains. Morning offers the perfect views of the Himalayas, and it remains up to afternoon usually. It is the main season when you will see many tourists along the Annapurna circuit trekking routes.
Spring season
The spring season is considered the second-best season to trek in Nepal. This is before summertime, so it is very hot and humid in the down valley and the southern part of Nepal. But it does not impact you because you would go to the Mountain areas of Nepal. This is also known as a flowering season, elevation from 2000 meters to 3000 meters, where you can see different types of rhododendron flowers and magnolia flowers. Generally, in this season the weather is very good, you can see the best view of the Himalayas as well as the scenery you can see up to the afternoon on most days. Due to the drought in the lower area, sometimes there will be haze in the lower area, but in the mountains, everything is clear, and there is very little chance of rain or snowfall during the trek.
Monsoon season
This season is also known as the rainy season in Nepal. It rains a lot, the sky is cloudy, very little chance to see the mountain. Leeches, floods and landslides are common in this month. This is not a good time to do the Annapurna Circuit trek.
Winter seasons
These months, generally it’s cold months of the year. Most of the tourist doesn’t do any adventure activities. Doing trek on this month is very difficult because of the cold environment snowfall rainfall and sometimes hell-storm as well. The sky is cloudy So you cannot see the beautiful view. For the comprehensive information go to Annapurna circuit trek best time

8-Day Short Annapurna Circuit Trek difficulty
An 8-day Annapurna Circuit trek is a Moderate-adventure and a very minimal version of the classical Annapurna Circuit trek. Due to the very short days, trek poses some risk, and here is what treks look like in terms of difficulty.
High Altitude:
The trek crosses the highest elevated point at Thorong La Pass (5,416m / 17,769ft). Trekkers must approach this altitude quickly in shorter time durations. This short time frame’s quick ascending increases the chance of the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Proper acclimatisation is very important in high-altitude places like Manag, and a shorter itinerary provides less time for your body to adapt.Terrain:
The itinerary of the 8-Day Short Annapurna Circuit Trek starts from Chame, which is already quite a high place and from here the trek continuously ascends at a faster speed. This may put more strain on your body and increase the risk of altitude-related issues.Diverse and Rugged Terrain:
The Annapurna Circuit trek 8-day trail involves different types of terrain, from lush pine forests in the lower regions to moraine, dry, and steep paths at higher altitudes around the passes. The trekkers need to walk through the ascent and descent frequently. If the weather is bad, then you have to walk through the thick snow as well as some slippery ice trails while decending down to Muktinath after the Throng la pass.Rapid weather change:
weather in the mountains can change rapidly, and it is always unpredictable. Even in the best seasons (spring and autumn), we can get sudden changes in weather from sunshine to rain and even snow, as well, strong winds. This kind of weather changes your experience and can be difficult sometimes, especially in cold areas, Such as Manag and Thorong Phedi.Limited Acclimatisation days:
The trek starts from Chame and it has a altitude day in Manag which is 3550 meters and this can be hard for the trekkers because of the faster altitude gain and there is a less time to adapty the body in the altitude zone so we recommend you to do some Hikes during the stay in Manag such as a Ice lake

Annapurna Circuit - ten days customized trek. Among beautiful landscapes...and nepali flat! :)
We met the owner Shreeram and our guide the evening before for a briefing.
They were really kind and offered us a pick up service at the airport.
They arranged the trek based on our request (longer than usual short-Annapurna circuit, but shorter than the entire route), for ten days – transfer from Kathmandu and to Pokhara included.
We are very grateful to our guide Krishna and the porter Maila, they were kind, patient and very professional. We had the chance to know them deeper sharing meals together. For future trekkers: enjoy your trek and the people you’re walking with also by eating with them, it will add value to your experience! :)
Sharing is caring! Bring with you snacks and comfort food to share with others – it will happen to meet also kids on your path, they will be very happy, especially with chocolate! :)
Shreeram checked on us several times if everything was going alright during the trek.
It has been a pleasure to enjoy all these beautiful mountains with them!

Annapurna circuit trek 2019
Just returned from the Annapurna Circuit trek with a group of friends, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing! It would not have been possible without our awesome tour guide, Shreeram, and our two strong porters (who happen to look like Korean twins btw), Dev and Surendra.
Personally, I like to engage a local guide when trekking especially in unfamiliar places (this was our group’s first time in Nepal as well as doing such a long trek!), because I’d like to think that the local guides know the ins and outs of the trail better; making sure safety is the utmost priority while not compromising on the view and experience.
Fortunately for us, Shreeram did exactly what we expected of him and far more.
Throughout the 12 days Shreeram always made us feel safe, was observant, caring, and sensitive to our needs. He would advise us on the Do’s and Don’ts throughout the trek, and I am grateful that none of us ran into any major issues (whether general wellbeing/safety/comfort) under his care and guidance. He is also extremely knowledgeable about the Himalayas and the surrounding region, as he patiently answered all our questions and always kept us entertained with little nuggets of information. And added bonus to this all was Shreeram’s unique sense of humour which created a lighthearted vibe within our group, always making us chuckle away.
Not forgetting our porters Dev and Surendra who also did an amazing job, each of them carrying >20kgs over their shoulders every day (with a strap across their forehead to support the load :O ) , never once complaining, and always early to arrive at our destination to secure the best rooms possible for us.
All-in-all, we are extremely grateful to have had Shreeram, Dev and Surendra as part of our trip. While all the above may seem like “small” things, trust us when we say – it makes all the difference and is definitely what separates just “normal” from “GREAT”.
Response from Nepal Trek Hub
Hello and greetings from Nepal Trek Hub
Thank you very much for your valuable feedback regarding our service. We are very glad to be with you for two weeks and could provide our service. We had a really good time with you people and we never forget your team as well. The time we spent together was too short for us and we did not know that it passed so quickly… but the memories we have is always with us. See you again in Nepal.

Wonderful guide for the Annapurna Circuit!
I used Nepal Trek hub to help guide me and 2 others through a 17-day trek through the Annapurna circuit; from Ngadi to the Thurong La pass, with detours to Ice Lake, Tilicho Lake, Tatopani, and Poon Hill. And I’m so glad we used a guide. Shreeram (or “Ram” as we called him) and his team of experienced porters were indispensable. There was major flooding in 2021 – the year before our trip – and Ram and his team helped us find the remaining undamaged trails and helped us pick the best hotels to stay at for the best prices during the whole trip. He also helped to navigate the rock fall areas and gave us invaluable knowledge of the local environment and culture (and he’s a pretty good Nepali teacher to boot!). There is something about having that local connection that just can’t be replaced. We had the trip of a lifetime and will definitely be using Nepal Trek Hub again next time we come back to Nepal!!
