All 3 routes are very nice but the route via Ghorepani Poon Hill is best in terms of scenery with the long durations.
This is the typical Annapurna base camp trek route which most of the trekkers do. The trek starts from Birethanti and then goes to one of the best viewpoints of the earth from where you can see stunning sunrise on the Himalayan peaks including 2 above 8000 meters Dhulagiri 8,167 Metes and Annapurna 8,091 Meters and many others. This route also makes trekkers acclimatize and strengthen their physical shape better for Annapurna base camp. It takes 9 days to complete the Annapurna base camp from this route.
This is a straight trek route that needs just 5-6 trek days to complete the Annapurna base camp trek. The trek begins with the drive to Samrung which is very near Jhinu and Chomrong. This route is suitable for trekkers who have a week for the hike and want to explore the majestic Annapurna range. This hike takes you to the Annapurna base camp in just 3 days and returns back in 2 days. You can see the stunning view of the Annapurna and Annapurna as well as many other peaks from the base of Mt Annapurna
This route is the least popular and very few trekkers go through this route. It starts from Kande and then goes to Landruk and Jhinu. This route may take 7 full trekking days to complete the Annapurna base camp. The advantage of this route is for the first 2 days there will be very less tourists but once you reach Chomrong the trek routes get busy and like other routes, it goes to the base camp from here.
In this trek, there are mixed ethnic groups of inhabitants such as Chettri, Brahmin and Mogoloid people. Brahamin, Chettri, and Newars live in the lower land while mongoloid people live in the Highland. Similarly, mongoloid people such as Gurung, Magar, pun, and others are staying in higher elevation areas such as Chomrong, and Ghandruk. There are many people who are British Army, Indian Army, and Singapore police from this region, while other people do traditional farming. The main festivals of Brahmin and Chettri are Dashain and Tihar. In the same way, mongoloid people celebrate Buddha Jayanti and Lhosar. Mongoloid people also celebrate the Hindu festival because of the cultural impact
Annapurna Base Camp Trek trail distance is around 85 km. Trekkers need to walk 10 km to 20 KM each day. This trekking trail is popular for most hikers and usually, it’s got many tourists. The distance is also differed as per route, for example, Nayapool – Ghorepani – Chomrong – Annapurna Base Camp – Dhampus – Phedi is the longest route whereas Nayapool – Annapurna base camp – Nayapool is the shortest route.
This trekking trail is quite hard for many tourists cause it has a lot of stairs and the height of the stairs is also irregular. From trek start day to end the day, there are many stairs. Local built these stairs for easiness of tourists to avoid the slippery and muddy trail. During the summertime, it rains a lot so the steps get a fungus so it is slippery. Other times it is very good for the trekkers.
Annapurna base camp height is 4130 Meters. Most of the trekkers always think that the height may be a problem for them and start to feel fear which is not necessary in our experience. A very rare number of people get Altitude mountain sickness in this trek. The height of the Annapurna base camp trek is not that much as compared to other trekking routes in Nepal. The height of Annapurna is 8091 meters just 1 K.M distance from the Annapurna base camp. The Machhapurche base camp is 3700 Meters. Macchapurche base camp(MBC) is on the way to Annapurna base camp(ABC). The distance is two hours trail but it is quite difficult due to the elevation.
There is a natural hot spring pond near Jhinu Danda on the Bank of the Modi River. The water is very good for the body and the local believes that the water’s healing quality can ease your pain and some kind of skin diseases too. You can enjoy the hot spring baths with the cold beer if you have enough time and want to spend quality time it is definitely worth it to you.
Definitely, the Annapurna base camp trek is worth very much. Despite some of the lower part of Annapurna trails being hampered by road constructions the Upper part of the trek is still very wild and very beautiful. The road constructions in the lower part of the area like Birethnti, Ghandruk have reduced the day of the trek but there is not any change in the upper parts. The scenery is still the same as before. You can see the sky touching tall snowcapped mountain peaks from Poon Hill and from the Annapurna base camp. The ever-smiling local people, diversified local culture, Buddhist and Hindu cultures and temples on the way, landscapes and mountain peaks make you very satisfied by the trek of Annapurna base camp. Mt Annapurna 8,091 Meters, Mt Dhaulagiri 8,167 Meters, Annapurna South 7,219 Meters, Himchuli 6400 Meters, Fishtail 6,993 Meters, Annapurna III and many other peaks can be seen very nicely.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC Trek) is one of the moderate treks of Nepal. Moderate means the trek is less than 4500 meters and requires around 6-7 hours of walking per day. ABC Trekking is also the same but it is quite dangerous too. Every year avalanches kill the trekkers who go to the Annapurna base camp trek. There are certain areas of the trekking trails where an avalanche might happen at any time. Most of the trekkers lose their lives because of the unknown risk of the Avalanche.
The biggest avalanche happened 11 years ago, 17 trekkers and Nepali people died in that disaster. Each year the disaster happens on the Annapurna base camp trek. Last year 7 people died on the Annapurna base camp trek. With an experienced guide, you will be safe while trekking to ABC.

I booked a 10-day trek around the Annapurna region with Nepal Trek Hub. From the beginning of Communication, I was asking so many questions regarding Annapurna Trek. Every time I got my answer so quickly. Shreeram was the best man to solve each and every query regarding this Annapurna Trek. I had so much information regarding the Annapurna Trekking so I was well prepared regarding types of equipment and gear. On arrival, Shreeram Pick Up me from the airport. We had a nice conversation in hotel regarding my trip. My Guide Rajesh was there to meet me and afterwards, rajesh took care of everything. He was hero of my trip not only as a guide but also as a friend. As I am alone I was frightened that I could be board but that thing did not happen to me as Rajesh was so funny
Being single it is hard to get the accommodation in Annapurna as I understood myself, but my guide managed me super accommodation everyday. We were doing Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with Annapurna Base Camp. As my guide was Encyclopedia, I understood many things regarding Nepal such as how Nepal formed. What is its history? What are the culture and ethnicity? Language, politics, rural life and many other things that other travellers do not care about.
I was so lucky in terms of weather because from the start of my trek to end, it was crystal clear weather so I saw many mountains, terrains and landscapes. It was also good to see the rhododendron flowers blooming in the forest. I enjoyed the mesmerizing view of the Forest and mountains.
I saw Mt.Annapurna, Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri, Fishtail mountain and many other beautiful peaks around the region. It was quite narrow valley but the scenery was amazing itself plus I got more impression that the local porters were carrying 60-70 kg easily in baskets to the hotel’s supplies. And the more interesting thing is they were in flip-flops.
Overall, my experience with Nepal Trek Hub was super. They were kind and helpful as well as very professional in their profession. They are about the client’s need and what they want. They were also very happy to customize the trip even in office or in Trip as well. I can recommend to anyone who is going to Nepal for any trip.
